Hariwan Municipality is one of the 20 municipalities in Sarlahi District of Madhesh Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 49,988, comprising 24,405 males (48.8%) and 25,583 females (51.2%), with a literacy rate of 71.05%. Spanning 66.86 square kilometers, Hariwan Municipality exhibits the population density of 748 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 11 wards.
