As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 81,120, comprising 40,915 males (50.4%) and 40,205 females (49.6%), with a literacy rate of 60.79%. Spanning 107.05 square kilometers, Barahathawa Municipality exhibits the population density of 758 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 18 wards.
