NBL- Junior Assistant (Level 3) Exam

Nepal Bank Limited, one of the leading financial institutions in Nepal, conducts an open competitive examination to recruit candidates for the Junior Assistant (Level 3) position.

The position offered by Nepal Bank Limited is for permanent employment. Selected and appointed employees must work at any office or branch designated by the bank. The salary and other benefits are provided in accordance with the bank's prevailing rules and regulations. The probation period for new employees is set at one year, although it is reduced to six months for women employees.

This examination is designed to identify and select the most qualified individuals to join the bank's workforce. The selection process is rigorous and comprises three main phases:

Nature of Exam:

(a) Written Exam: 200 Marks

This is the first phase of the selection process, totaling 200 marks. The written exam can be taken in Nepali, English, or both. Candidates must complete one paper, which is divided into two subjects. The exam will cover various units in the syllabus.

The first paper is divided into two subjects. The first subject, General Knowledge, Current Affairs carries 40 marks and consists of objective MCQ questions. The second subject, Banking, Management, Accounting, and Customer Handling, carries 60 marks and consists of subjective questions. The total duration to complete the written examination is 2 hours.

Only candidates who pass the first stage will proceed to the second stage, and those who pass the second stage will proceed to the third stage.

(b) Practical Exam: 50 Marks

(c) Interview: 20 Marks

Candidates who pass the written and practical examination will proceed to the third phase, the interview. This phase carries 20 marks and evaluates the candidate's interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and suitability for the role of an assistant in the bank.

Eligibility

Academic Qualification

Minimum Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.

Age

As of the online application deadline, candidates for the Junior Assistant position must be between 18 and 35 years old. The upper age limit is 40 years for women and disabled candidates. This age limit does not apply to bank employees who are already permanent.

Syllabus

The written exam will cover questions from all syllabus sections as much as possible.

Notwithstanding anything written in the subject matter of the papers/subjects under this curriculum scheme, the laws, acts, rules, and policies included in the curriculum shall be considered as those existing (including amendments, deletions, or additions) three months before the exam date.
