The Agricultural Development Bank Ltd. recruits candidates for business assistant through an open, competitive written examination based on a prescribed syllabus. The position falls under the Administration Service/Group and is classified at Level 5.

The examination consists of a 200-mark written exam followed by a 30-mark interview. This comprehensive evaluation aims to assess the candidates' proficiency and suitability for the role of Assistant within the bank's administrative framework.
The written exam question paper will be set in either Nepali or English. All questions are compulsory. Candidates can answer the written exam in Nepali, English, or both languages. For objective multiple-choice questions, 20% of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. However, no marks will be awarded, and there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions.
Questions will cover as many units of all sections as possible within the syllabus. Subject-based questions can be long answer questions, two or more parts of a single question, or short notes within a single question. The minimum passing mark for each paper in the written exam is 40%.
The first paper, covering General Knowledge, Economics, and Banking, will include multiple-choice questions (25 marks), short questions (25 marks), and long questions (50 marks), for a total of 100 marks. Candidates must secure at least 40 marks to pass this two-hour and 30-minute exam.
The second paper focuses on service-related topics and consists of two sections, each with short questions worth 20 marks and long questions worth 30 marks. This paper also totals 100 marks, requiring a minimum of 40 marks to pass, and has the same duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Only candidates who pass the written exam and are shortlisted based on merit will be eligible to participate in the interview.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
Proficiency Certificate (PCL) with Economics as the main subject from the Management or Humanities faculty from a recognized university, examination board, or institution, or passed Class 10+2 and obtained at least three months of basic computer training.
This syllabus aims to assess the theoretical and practical knowledge of the candidates in subjects relevant to the bank's operations, deposit, loan, and other banking transactions, considering the job description set for the post of Business Assistant, Assistant Level Administration Service, Level 5 of the bank, and to select qualified candidates from among those who meet the required qualifications.
Notwithstanding anything written in this syllabus, any amendments made to the laws, acts, rules, regulations, and policies included in the syllabus three months before the exam date will be considered part of this syllabus.
