Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global event held annually on the third Saturday of September. SFD serves as a prominent educational initiative with the objective of raising awareness about Free Software and its advantages while promoting its adoption. One of the fundamental principles at the heart of SFD is the idea of free distribution. This fundamental concept ensures that users possess the freedom to share copies of open-source software, fostering collaboration and innovation without encountering cumbersome licensing constraints.
