The Nepal Technological Innovation Center (NTIC) has announced the 'NTIC Idea Khoj,' a nationwide call for startup ideas that will help the country's rural economy. Idea submissions from all over Nepal are encouraged, particularly in the fields of agriculture and rural development, alternative and renewable energy, and health-related livelihoods.
Ten business concepts will be shortlisted from the pool of applications received, with five selected business ideas receiving a seed investment of 5 lakhs and the opportunity to participate in a 1-week intensive training and support program. Furthermore, the winners will have access to mentorship from entrepreneurs and business professionals for a period of one year or longer.
Deadline: August 28, 2021
The NTIC was established by the University of Kathmandu as part of the Integrated Rural Development Project funded by the South Korean government. It allows institutions/organizations to make the transition from research to practical technology, with the goal of making world-class research and technologies available in Nepal for the country's overall growth in a professional, technological, and entrepreneurial environment. KOICA, on behalf of the Republic of Korea, and Kathmandu University, on behalf of the Government of Nepal, are administering NTIC.
