St. Xavier's College is organizing the first iteration of Model United Nation (SXC MUN) 2022. The Model UN conference is going to be held at Loyola Campus, St. Xavier's College from 25th -27th November 2022 under the theme of “Delegation Nation”. This international event will be graced by 200 delegates, participants, speakers, associates, ambassadors, and executive board members from different countries around Asia. This three-day-long conference will simulate seven dynamic bodies of the United Nations.
SXC MUN is the first itiration where 400 people will grace the conference with their presence which includes delegates, executive board members, internation appearacnes, guests from the United National Nepal, special speakers, and the organizing committee.
Model UN is an extracurricular activity in which students imitate UN committees and assume the roles of UN delegates.
Through MUN, a competitive simulation or conference, students can learn about diplomacy, effective communication, international relations, politics, and the UN system. Model UN has become well-known in colleges, organizations, and high schools all around the world due to its many benefits for students.
MUN is a competing simulation or a conference through which students, by simulating bodies of the United Nations, learn about diplomacy, effective communication, international relations, and politics, and the universe of the United Nations Model UN has been very famous in universities, schools and high schools in many countries as it is very beneficial for students. This conference will be a great opportunity for youth to meet like-minded individuals who are actively engaged and ready to take the responsibility of becoming the leaders of tomorrow. Initially, the main purpose to organize the SXC MUN is for fundraising motive for ‘Project Abhaya’ which is one of the projects initiated by the students of the college to raise awareness about the women violence which is prevailing in our society and to act on the ground by providing self-defense trainings and a sexual violence risk reduction education program for women and girls which develops their critical mental, vocal and physical skills to prevent, mitigate and manage the risk of sexual violence.
Youth will have a fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded people who are prepared to assume leadership roles in the future at this conference.
