The Hult Prize at Kathmandu University (KU) is a prestigious annual competition to inspire university students to tackle some of the world’s most pressing social issues. It has been empowering student innovators to create social impact. From food security and water access to energy, the environment, employment, and education, the competition challenges participants to develop innovative solutions to these global challenges. The ultimate goal? To transform groundbreaking ideas into viable startups with the potential to create real-world impact. The international winner of the Hult Prize is awarded an incredible US$1,000,000 startup prize.
The theme for the Hult Prize 2024/25 cohort is “UNLIMITED”, offering participants the freedom to develop innovative solutions aligned with any of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Each team should consist of two to four members; and all the team members must be university level students- be it from undergraduate, graduate or PhD level. This year's competition stands out by being open not only to students from the seven schools of Kathmandu University but also to those from other universities, fostering diverse, cross-institutional collaboration and a rich exchange of ideas.
