Nepal Geological Student Society (NGSS) is all set to held the 5th Geo-Science Exhibition in coordination with and Central Department of Geology (CDG), Tribhuvan University.

Key Details

  • Date: Magh 24-26, 2081
  • Venue: Central Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur

Event Theme:

The three-day exhibition with a theme of "Geology in Action: Exploration to Conservation" emphasizes the study, exploration, and conservation of geology, focusing on the sustainable use and restoration of natural resources. Based on the concept of "Giving Back to Nature," the exhibition is expected to promote a responsible approach to the earth by showing a method for mineral extraction, groundwater management, landslide control, and biological restoration.

Geological knowledge will pave the way for creating new possibilities in the future by enabling the proper management of natural resources, environmental balance, and long-term conservation. The exhibition will showcase the latest innovations in research, exploration, and conservation, conveying a message of coexistence between society, the environment, and nature.

Objectives of the Exhibition:

  1. Raising Awareness: To spread awareness about the importance of geology and its role in societal development.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: To provide a platform for interaction among geology enthusiasts, professionals, students, and institutions.
  3. Innovation Showcase: To display geology-related models, equipment, and research.
  4. Encouraging Networking: To provide opportunities for collaboration among geological institutions, consulting companies, and stakeholders.

Key Features of the Program:

  • Participants: Geology enthusiasts, geology and engineering students, students from the central departments of the science faculty, geologists, professors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • "Exploration to Conservation": Highlighting the role of geology in the exploration, management, and conservation of natural resources.
  • Expected Visitors: Over 6,000 during the program duration.
  • Exhibits: Visual displays, innovative models, presentations on geological research.
  • Learning Opportunities: Gain knowledge on basic to complex geological processes.
