The Gurkha Contingent, a distinct unit within the Singapore Police Force, is predominantly composed of Gurkhas originating from Nepal. Chosen for their exceptional discipline and unwavering dedication, members undergo rigorous training to attain high levels of skill. Primarily serving as a specialized guard force, the contingent has evolved into a prominent counter-terrorist unit. Annually, recruitment takes place at the British Gurkha Army Camps in Pokhara and Dharan, Nepal, offering the opportunity for Nepalese youth from all regions and castes to apply.
