PhD in Health Sciences

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Health Sciences, offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences at Pokhara University, involves rigorous coursework totaling 18 credits (12 credit hours in mandatory courses and 6 credit hours in specialization courses). This is followed by 42 credits dedicated to original research within chosen areas of specialization.

Eligibility

Applicant should have completed master’s degree in related discipline relevant to the proposed major in PhD program, should have registered in relevant professional council and should fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria to enroll as a PhD candidate. The admission to PhD in Health Science program is based on candidate’s academic documents, recommendation, and statement of purpose, research synopsis, research publication, entrance examination, and interview.

The following specific qualifications should be met to apply:

  1. Two years working experience for those who have passed Master Level with 3.00/4.00 CGPA or high Second Division (55%).
  2. One year working experience for those who have passed Master Level with 3.30/4.00 CGPA or First Division.
  3. There will be no requirement of working experience for those who have passed Master Level with 3.75/4.00 CGPA or Distinction Division.
