The MPhil in Sociology is a postgraduate program that provides give in-depth understanding of the major features of sociology to high-quality students who already hold a degree in a social science.

The basic aim of the MPhil in Sociology is to provide you the chance to explore current social change at an advanced level. It will allow you to integrate your expertise with a working grasp of theory and research methodologies. This course will prepare you for doctoral-level research or its equivalent in various professional contexts.

Salient Features

Grading

Twenty percent of the class grade will be based on readings and preparation of summaries. Another 20 percent will be based on classroom presentation and discussion. The remaining 60 percent will be based on final examination.

Eligibility

The applicants must have a master degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University or a University recognized by a Tribhuvan University with at least second division.
