Masters in Environmental Health in Disaster is a two years course offered by the Central Department of Environmental Science of Tribhuvan University.
Aim
- The aim of the master's program is to, through knowledge, experience, and research build capacities that will reduce disaster risks and contribute to better and more targeted public health-based relief following disasters
Objectives
- To increase the knowledge and understanding of the disaster phenomenon, its different contextual aspects, impacts, and public health consequences;
- To increase the knowledge and understanding of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN-ISDR) and to increase skills and abilities for implementing the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Strategy;
- To ensure skills and abilities to analyze potential effects of disasters and of the strategies and methods to deliver public health response to avert these effects;
- To ensure skills and ability to design, implement and evaluate research on disasters”.
Eligibility
Students who have passed Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Forestry, Civil Engineering, Water and Soil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and other science-related disciplines with at least second division can study M.Sc. in Environmental Health in Disaster program.
MSc in Environmental Health in Disaster Entrance Examination
- The weightage of the entrance examination will be 100 full marks, and the duration will be 2 hours. Questions are asked according to the B.Sc syllabus prescribed by the committee.
- The questions will be Objective or Multiple choice questions (MCQs). Each question will carry 1 (one) weightage.
- 35% marks must be obtained to pass the entrance examination.
Admission Criteria
Students who wish to pursue Masters in Environmental Health in Disaster program must pass the entrance exam conducted by Tribhuvan University.
