Admission Open for MPhil and PhD in Management at Mid-Western University

Mid-West University’s Graduate School of Management in Birendranagar, Surkhet, Nepal, is now accepting applications for its MPhil and PhD programs for the 2081/082 academic year (2025).

Application Process

Prospective candidates are encouraged to visit Mid-West University's official websites, mu.edu.np or muodgsm.edu.np, to download the application form and access program details. Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of the Dean, Graduate School of Management, Mid-West University, in person or via email.

Applicants are required to include:

• MPhil: Statement of Purpose (up to 1,000 words)
• PhD: Dissertation Proposal Synopsis (3,000 words)
• Bank voucher for NRs. 1,000 as the application fee, deposited at Nepal Bank Limited. Account Name: GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT DEAN'S OFFICE (INCOME ACCOUNT), Account No.: 19400107321492000003.

Eligibility

MPhil Program

• Applicants with a Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution with a GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent grade) or at least 50% marks are eligible if they have a minimum of two years of post-master's degree work experience.
• Applicants with a Master's degree in a relevant field with a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent grade) or at least 60% marks may apply if they have at least one year of post-master's degree work experience.
• Applicants with a master's degree in a relevant field and a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent grade) or at least 80% marks are eligible to apply without work experience.

PhD Program

• Applicants with an MPhil degree in a relevant subject from a recognized institution with a GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent grade) or at least 50% marks are eligible if they have at least two years of post-MPhil degree work experience.
• Applicants with an MPhil degree in a relevant subject and a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent grade) or at least 60% marks may apply if they have one year of post-MPhil degree work experience.
• Applicants with an MPhil degree in a relevant subject and a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent grade) or at least 80% marks are eligible to apply without any post-MPhil degree work experience.
