The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Pokhara University has announced the opening of PhD in Development Studies admissions. Eligible applicants from around the world are invited to apply. This program seeks candidates with strong academic backgrounds, who are highly motivated, curious, and driven by a desire for intellectual excellence.

Online Application

  • Online Application Form for Admission to PhD in Development Studies can be filled HERE
  • Two copies of the letter of recommendation must be submitted with the application form. Each recommendation form must be completed in the specified format and signed by the referee; otherwise, it will not be considered. The sealed print copies of the letters of recommendation should be submitted to the Dean's office before the entrance test. Alternatively, referees can submit the letters of recommendation online HERE or via email to phd.fhss@pu.edu.np.

Eligibility

A master's degree in any field from Pokhara University or any other recognized university, along with the following specific qualifications:

  • Two years working experience for those who have passed Master Level with 3.00/4.00 CGPA or high Second Division (55%)
  • One-year working experience for those who have passed Master Level with 3.30/4.00 CGPA or First Division
  • There will be no requirement of working experience for those who have passed Master Level with 3.75/4.00 CGPA or Distinction Division.

  • CV, Letters of Recommendation from two referees, NOC Letter from the current employer
