Kathmandu Metropolitan City has announced a public holiday for today (Baisakh 24). This decision comes amidst directives issued by the Education Officer of the Metropolitan, Govinda Prasad Sharma. A notice has been circulated to all schools under the Metropolitan jurisdiction, informing them of the grant of public leave.
The decision to declare a public holiday stems from recent developments in the Bagmati Province Cabinet meeting held on Baisakh 12. During the meeting, it was decided that Tamang and Nepali languages would be implemented as the official working languages of the Bagmati Province Government. In light of this decision, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has extended the public holiday to all schools within its purview.
Despite the declaration of a public holiday in all government offices of Bagmati Province, the Metropolitan City urges schools to communicate any discrepancies regarding leave directly. This move emphasizes the importance of smooth implementation and adherence to the directives issued by the authorities.
