What is Chevening Scholarship: 

The Chevening Scholarship Scheme is funded by the  UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and is one of the world’s most prestigious scholarship awards. Chevening Scholarship programme was established in 1983 and is now an internationally prestigious scheme with over 41,000 alumni. In 2011-12 there were over 700 Chevening Scholars studying at universities across the UK. Chevening Scholarships are currently offered in approximately 110 countries.

Chevening Scholarships in Nepal

Chevening Scholarships in Nepal aim to attract talented professionals who have been identified as potential future leaders, decision-makers and opinion formers. We accept applications from a wide range of subject areas, however, we particularly welcome applications in the following fields:

  1. Human Rights and Rule of Law
  2. Development economics
  3. Conflict and national security studies
  4. Climate change
  5. Media and journalism

Chevening Scholarships not only offer financial support to study for a Master’s degree at the UK’s leading universities, but the opportunity to become part of an influential and highly regarded global network.

Last year, two Chevening Scholars from Nepal studied in the UK. Over 100 Nepal scholars have been awarded Chevening Scholarhips to date.
