Top Medical (MBBS) Colleges of Nepal

Medical Education in Nepal is offered by constituent school of University, affiliated colleges and autonomous university like organization. Kathmandu University and Tribhuvan University offers MBBS program via their constituent school, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS) and Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj Medical Campus respectively.

Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS)* and BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) are autonomous university like organization. They have their own entrance examination, curriculum and grading system for MBBS program.

As there is no any scientific ranking so far in Nepal; all the medical colleges boast that their college is the best in the country.

We have tried to bring unbiased and accurate ranking of the Medical Colleges of Nepal. This ranking is based on following major criteria:

1. Performance of students in Annual Examination
2. Performance of students in Nepal Medical Council Licensing examination
3. Priority Medical College for students during the time of enrollment.
4. Review of students
5. Popular vote of students
6. Faculty
7. Hospital size and facilities

We do not claim that this ranking is the accurate ranking but we are sure that this ranking represents overall status of Medical Colleges and will provide valuable guidance for students during the time of enrollment.

* criteria 2 does not apply as students has not yet appeared in the licensing exam. Students of first batch are now doing internships.
