A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday seeking the court’s intervention in the arbitrary hike of fees at private schools across the country. The writ was filed according to Article 107 of Interim Constitution of Nepal-2063 demanding an order of mandamus and certiorari
Advocates Shri Krishna Subedi and Gopal Nath Yogi filed the writ in which the office of prime minister and council of ministers, education ministry, Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON) and the National Private and Boarding Schools Association of Nepal (NPABSON), among others, have been made
PABSON has earlier decided to increase the fee of private schools atleast 18%. The writ applicant has argued that this decision of PABSON is against the court verdict of 2069 jestha 10. Despite the order of supreme court, the private schools had announced that they would hike the fees in line with the current inflation and arguing that the decison of Supreme court does not apply to them.
