To commemorate and celebrate the love of reading, the first Thursday of March every year is celebrated as World Book Day, in UK, Ireland, and many educational institutions around the world. World book day is officially organized by UNESCO and was celebrated on 4th of March this year. RAI School has followed this lead and celebrated the event with much zeal inside its premises in Naxal, Kathmandu. A welcome step in promoting the love for reading among its students, RAI School has added a very innovative spin to this decade-long culture otherwise only highly valued among western nations.

The annual event, is largely targeted towards children and aimed at encouraging their love of reading. This very idea has been reflected in RAI School's Pyjama Party Story Session. The story session organized by the school welcomed its students in pajamas for a warm and comfy experience of book reading. A very interactive session organized by the school saw teachers reading books aloud and engaging students in various activities including book charades creating a world of amazing stories where students could dwell for a whole day away from the reality of life and into the world of creative imagination.  To make the celebration of reading even cozier, the students were allowed to carry soft toys with them to the event. As Kate DiCamillo put it, 'Reading should not be presented to children as chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift.' Indeed internalizing the same, in its innovative way of capturing the students' interest in reading, RAI School engaged students in yet another creative activity of creating their own version of covers of the books they love reading.

RAI School believes that reading is quintessential for the overall development of child especially their writing and speaking skills. It is without a doubt transforming its belief in practice by celebrating the worldwide event in an unparalleled way. The celebration not only shows the School's belief in the power of reading but establishes the institution as one of the few schools, that goes above and beyond to materialize the values it professes.
