Bhaktapur, Feb 24 : Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel has underscored vocational education, arguing that would make the country prosper.
Addressing the 31st anniversary of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) at Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur today, Minister Pokharel shared that the government aimed to expand vocational education in all local units by 2 years.
Lauding the role of CTEVT in economic advancement of the country, Pokharel urged those professionals in private sector to be service-oriented.
Similarly, National Planning Commission member Dr Usha Jha claimed that the new Education Act had not reduced the essence of CTEVT.
Likewise, CTEVT Vice-chairman Kul Bahadur Basnet said that CTEVT had aimed to impart vocational training to 6,000 youths in each province in future.
CTEVT's admission capacity has increased from 44,350 to 60,869 while 4,870 students coming from underprivileged communities were provided scholarship along with stipend for tuition, accommodation and meal (RSS)
