All the administration works of the Tribhuvan University (TU) have been brought to a grinding halt due to lockout in the University on Vice-Chancellor appointment row.
Nepal Democratic University Teachers' Association and Nepal National University Teachers' Organization padlocked the University central office for indefinite time for the past couple of weeks accusing Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal of unilaterally appointing VCs by going beyond the culture of consensus and cooperation.
According to TU Information Section Chief, Prem Chitrakar, all administration works have been entirely halted after the appointment of Vice-Chancellor in TU with the protest by TU teachers.
Earlier, administrative works have been smoothly operated at the TU with its other functions disrupted in a partial manner.
