Tribhuvan University has decided to postpone all examinations scheduled after Magh 9, 2078 until further notice. Due to the alarming rise of cases of the Covid-19 Omicron variant in the country, the Office of the Controller of Examinations has published a notice stating that the exams have been postponed due to the rise of infections among students, teachers, and staff.

The university was heavily reprimanded for defying government directives and continuing with the exams in the midst of a surge of Covid-19 cases. According to Pushparaj Joshi, the Controller of Examinations, all examination programs have been halted owing to the rise in Covid-19 infections.

The CMAT Entrance Exam, however, has not been postponed. The dean of the Faculty of Management, Dilliraj Sharma has informed the CMAT exam will still be held on Magh 8, 2078 even though unvaccinated students have requested its postponement.
