Amid ongoing protests and hunger strike launched by temporary teachers and university students, Teachers Service Commission today said the teachers exam will be held on the scheduled date.
Organizing a press meet in Bhaktapur, Tana Gautam, chief of Teachers Service Commission, informed that preparation for examination had completed and urged the examinees to take the exam.
Temporary teachers and students of education faculty have been staging hunger strike at two different places demanding cancellation of the examination.
According to Tulsi Prasad Thapaliya, chief administrator at TSC, as many as 23,286 temporary teachers are competing for 22,076 permanent posts. Of the total posts, 16,199 teachers are competing for primary level, 3,764 for lower secondary level and 3,323 teachers are competing for secondary level.
TSC informed that 116 exam centres have been fixed across the country.
