Tribhuvan University postponed  the Free Student Union ( FSU ) elections which was scheduled for June 6,  after students unions remained adamant in their decision to padlock colleges across the country.

An informal meeting of the TU Executive Committee held in the Capital on Wednesday had reached to the conclusion that the elections may not be held on the proposed date as most of the colleges across the country failed to publish voters’ list and distribute nomination forms for candidates as per the election schedule.

The decision to postpone the FSU election was taken following a marathon meeting held on Thursday between the leaders of four main students unions affiliated to various political parties and Vice Chancellor, Dean of Education, Rector and chief of Students Welfare and Sports department of Tribhuvan University, Chandra Mani Poudel, Registrar at TU, informed.

This is the second time the Tribhuvan University postponed Free student unions elections for an indefinite time.
