Kathmandu, June 27 - Tribhuvan University had postponed all its annual and semester-end examinations amid the coronavirus fear.

As there is no certainty on when the examination will be held, thousands of students are affected. The students studying in the annual system have no option of assessment other than the written exam. Similarly, the university is yet to decide about the semester system examination.

Examination Controller Pushparaj Joshi said that the students of the annual system need to wait for a few months, and the examination will be conducted once the COVID-19 pandemic returns to normal. He said that the students studying on an annual basis could be assessed only through the written exams, and no immediate alternative has been considered.

Experts have also suggested to promote the students to the upper semester without the examination and conduct the semester-end examination later.

The examinations of the semester system will be decided based on the report given by the study task force formed under the coordination of TU rector Prof. Dr. Shivlal Bhusal. University officials are also facing difficulties in conducting examinations and assessments in the absence of all students' participation in the online classes.
