Training Offered to Educational Leaders of Nepal

August 2: The Ofri Center under MASHAV (Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation) offered a 4-week long training with 2 hours per week to educational leaders of Nepal which concluded today. The Embassy of Israel in Kathmandu facilitated the webinars. In the closing remark, His Excellency Benny Omer, the Ambassador of Israel to Nepal opined how lucky today’s children are who have access to the world in their hands besides sharing how educational leaders could turn the challenges of the pandemic into opportunities.

Ms. Yudith Rosenthal, Director of Ofri Center, MASHAV was the expert for the webinar. Ms. Rosenthal emphasized learning to prepare for change. She focused on problem predictions highlighting that the survivors would be not the strong or intelligent ones but the ones who can adapt to change as Charles Darwin opined. She shared international practices of learning and talked about how the leaders can prepare their students for the future highlighting social and emotional learning and disrupting education. Dr. Swagat Shrestha, Chairperson of Kathmandu Valley School & College and the Vice President of HISSAN who coordinated the training, thanked His Excellency Mr. Benny Omer, the OFRI trainer, Ms. Yudith Rosenthal, and the participants for their active participation.

Mr. Kapil Dev Regmi, Director of Advanced College of Engineering and Management and the Secretary of HISSAN appreciated the role of Ambassador Benny Omer in bringing Israeli expertise in Nepal in various sectors including education. The Ofri Center delivered such training to school leaders of Kathmandu valley in June too. Educational leaders from Tribhuvan, Purbanchal, and Pokhara University besides CTEVT, Nursing Counsel attended training sessions. The training was initiated by Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools Association Nepal (HISSAN).
