Thousands of students have been taking part in the TU IOE entrance examination with a great ambition. One must get through the entrance examination to study BE in the TU affiliated colleges. There is more interest in this entrance exam taken by TU because of the much credibility felt by the students. Despite of the large number of students, only one fourth of the students can get through the examination. TU is conducting the exam form 15th to 29th Shrawan this year. According to the Chairman of the Entrance Examination Board, Ram Chandra Sapkota, Twelve Thousand Five Hundred and Ten Students have applied for the entrance examination which is One Thousand Five Hundred more than the last year. Among the examinees, only Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Twelve students will get to study the BE course. Sapkota adds "The selection will be on “threshhold basis” and also the results will come out sooner as the examination is held earlier this year." He assures that past mistakes won't be repeated this time and tried to be corrected. TU has been bearing the allegations of the late result publication due to which many qualified students go abroad for further studies.

Six among ten Universities in Nepal run engineering courses. Forty nine colleges under those universities teach engineering. The engineering course under Kathmandu University is the most expensive among all others whereas the admission in other universities is inflicted by the force and pressure of the powerful. Only TU entrance is reliable and organized according to the experts.
