The British College is delighted to announce that they have now officially taken over Namaste Academy, Rupandehi - making it a part of the expanding British Education Group. Led by new British management, the Academy is going through some major changes to make it one of the leading schools in Western Nepal, offering world class education with a state of the art infrastructure.

Paul Cleeves MBE, who is a long standing member of The British College advisory board, will be now acting as Vice Chairman of the British Education Group. He adds this to this to a wealth of achievements in the field of education, including working at one of the most prestigious Colleges in the UK, and writing a best-selling book which is now used by universities across the globe.

With this new takeover, Namaste Academy becomes a part of The British Education Group - a group that emcompasses a number of colleges in Nepal including The British College and Motherland School, as well as educational institutions in Dubai and the UK. Arun Kandel will be acting as Head of School Division, and using his 15 years of experience in the education sector, to help lead the team to success.

Running the Academy will be Mark Batholomew, the new Academic Director. Mark is from the UK and brings to the Academy over 30 years of experience from both the British Council and the University of Cambridge - one of the best universities in the world. He said of the news, ‘Our aim is to serve our Nepalese community and our priority this year is to make Namaste Academy the finest provider of the English language in the province’.

CEO and founder of the Group, Rajen Kandel said that he was pleased with this new addition and that he believes that this decade of global experience will help Namaste Academy to grow further and offer even higher quality education in Nepal’. This month, Rajen has also been appointed as the Parent Advisory Chairman of one of the top grammar schools in the UK, Newstead Wood School, Orpington. This is a great honour and a true reflection of how much they appreciate his expertise in the field of education.

Along with Namaste Academy, The British Education Group is set to continue expanding this year and we look forward to more exciting developments to come in the near future.
