Teachers' union from different parties expressed their commitments to raise educational standards

Teachers and other school staff affiliated to various Politcal parties veiled their 15-point commitment for improving educational standards,but remain mum on strikes and political activities on school premises.

The Educational Ministry in association with Teachers’Union of Nepal,Educational pages,UNICEF and Nepal Educational Republic Forum had organized a in the capital to make puplic the commitments from various organisations.

On may 25, the government had decleared schools as ‘Zone of Peace’,banning srikes ,bandhas declaration. After the declaration,the teachers and other employees had already shut down the schools for more than six days.

Guna Raj Lohani,President,All Nepal Teachers’organisation,affitiated to UCPN-Maoist,said that they were ready to fulfil their duities but the government should also honour their demands.Babu Ram Adhikari,president,Nepal National Teachers’s Organisation ,also expressed their commitment to raise educational standards.

Some of the teachers’s bodies which made the commitment include NERF,ANTO,NNTO,Nepal School Employees council,Nepal Relief Teachers struggle Committee,Madhesi Teachers Forum,TUN and NTA.Meanwhle,Educational Minister Dinanath Sharma said, the government had already taken steps to address the demands of teachers and school employees.
