The talks held between the protesting temporary teachers and the concerned authorities have ended on a positive note.
The talks between the agitating teachers of the Temporary Teachers Struggle Committee with the officials of the Ministry of Education in the presence of representatives from the Nepal Teachers' Federation was held after the directive from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Gopal Man Shrestha.
The meeting dwelt on issues securing the welfare of the temporary teachers such as giving all temporary teachers the opportunity to fight for the vacant permanent positions and providing compensation to those failing in the exam, shared Nepal National Teachers Association Chairperson, Baburam Thapa.
Temporary teachers have been staging hunger strike at Bhadrakali in the capital city since 16 June.
Although the government remains positive on the major demand, no agreement has been inked so far as the government and agitating temporary teachers are still to reach an agreement on other demands. RSS
