Students affiliated with the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist vandalised Kathmandu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) located at Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, on Tuesday, accusing it of charging exorbitant amount of fee.

A group of around 10 persons barged into the college at around 9 am and started smashing the computers and furniture. According to the college management, three computers, a projector and some furniture were destroyed in the attack. They walked out of the college after vandalising the property without any resistance.

The CPN-Maoist student wing, the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), has said it would "take action" against private colleges charging "unjustified" amount of fees including those using foreign names.

On Monday, they had attacked three private colleges - South Western State College at Basundhara, at the Everest Florida College at Shanti Nagar and at Rato Bangla College in Lalitpur.
