Student unions seek FSU election schedule

Kathmandu, Feb. 17: Two student unions , All Nepal National Free Students Union and All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary)  have sought schedule for the election to the Free Students Union (FSU) from the Tribhuvan University (TU).

Issuing a press release on Sunday, ANNFSU Chairperson Nabina Lama and ANNISU (Revolutionary) Chairperson Ranjit Lama demanded to make public the election schedule at the earliest.

Both the organisations would demonstrate protests at the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the TU on Monday to exert pressure on the officials to release the election schedule public.

Similarly, offices of the campus chiefs across the nation would be encircled along with demonstration on Tuesday, said Lama. Lama added that they were compelled to launch agitations as the TU has not yet made public the election schedule even after the election date fixed by TU itself is closer.

The FSU election, scheduled to be held in every two years, has not been conducted in te TU since 2065 BS.  (RSS)
