Thirteen student unions have put forth a 12-point condition for the implementation of semester system at Tribhuvan University (TU) central campus in Kirtipur. They urged TU authorities to fulfill these demands before taking forward the process to implement semester system.
The meeting of 13 student unions held in the Capital on Thursday also appealed for the unlocking the padlock at Kirtipur-based TU central campus. The student unions have also urged the authority to not put financial burden on the students while implementing the semester system.
What are the demands of the student unions?
1. Implementation of the agreement reached during the dismissal of the certificate level,
2. Fix timeframe for the implementation of semester system in all departments,
3. Scholarships for 20% students,
4. Removal of the system of increment in fees by 10% every year
