An Information Technology Laboratory (ICT) has been set up at Janjyoti Secondary School in remote Rajpur VDC-2 in Dang. The lab was opened for the first time in Rajpur. Keshav Raj Yadav, Principal of the school, said that the laboratory was launched in collaboration with Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and Nepal Telecommunication Authority Dang. "No school has brought ICT Lab in Rajpur till now," he said, adding, "This is the first time we have launched a lab in a remote village."
The school is operating the lab at a cost of around Rs. 35 lakhs. This has made it very easy for students to study. "Earlier, teaching students about ICT had to be taught by computer only through books," said Pra Yadav, "but now it is easier to teach computers experimentally." This will have a huge impact on the educational reforms of the school, said Ammar Raj Giri, chair of the school management committee. In the school, there are 24 computers with internet, 192 volt battery, four CC cameras, one projector, online UPS, said computer teacher Damodar Chaudhary.
