Stakeholders have suggested the government not to close schools. They claimed that schools across the country should not be closed simply because the risk of COVID-19 has risen in a particular area.

President of Guardian's Association Nepal, Mr. Suprabhat Bhandari mentioned that there is no coordination among the ministries resulting in different decisions. He clarified that there should be proper monitoring on schools where school children are getting infected highly with COVID-19. He also remarked that the decision to close the school should be given to the local level if the corona cases increase.

Mr. Tikaram Puri, President of the Private and Boarding Schools Organization (PABSON), stated that closing physical classes is not an acceptable solution at this time and an alternative mode of conducting classes for teaching and learning should be used instead. Furthermore, he stated that the local government should be given the authority to decide whether to operate or close the school based on the current situation.
