Shanti Buddha Basic School Building Inaugurated



Dhulikhel, Feb 12 (RSS): A six-room building of the Shanti Buddha Basic School at Bhikhori, Roshi rural municipality-11 was inaugurated on Sunday. 

The building was constructed with the financial and technical assistance of Save the Children and through the coordination of Nangsal Association Nepal, the District Education Office and Roshi rural municipality. 

The school old building was badly damaged by the April 25, 2015 earthquake and a new one was constructed. 

National Planning Commission (NPC) member Dr Sunil Babu Shrestha and Save the Children's Country Director Neb Oleney jointly inaugurated the school building. 

On the occasion the NPC member said that the planning commission has been taking initiatives for the development of education as it is the backbone of the country's development. 

Roshi rural municipality, Ward Number 11 chairperson Milan Lama said that they have been able to construct a new building of the school with the cooperation of all the agencies. 

The school building was constructed at a total cost of Rs 11.46 million, including Rs 4.32 million mobilised by the local community, school principal Krishna Bahadur Shrestha said. The school which runs classes up to Grade 5 has 58 students.
