Kathmandu, Chaitra 19- Uncertainty of examinations because of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has left students of Grade 10 and Ten Plus Two in limbo. The board is also unsure whether to conduct the examination in the pre-scheduled time or not.

The examinations of Grade 12 and Grade 11 were scheduled to be held from Baishakh 8, 2077 and Baishakh 21, 2077 respectively. Earlier, the examinations of all levels were put off until further notice in an effort to contain the COVID-19. This included the examinations of Grade 10 (SEE), Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University, Purbanchal University and so on.

Chairman of the National Examination Board (NEB), Prof. Dr. Chandramani Poudel informed that no new decision regarding the examinations of Grade 11 and 12 were made yet. "If the lockdown ends after Chaitra 25, the examination will be conducted on the scheduled date," Poudel said. "It will be difficult to conduct the exam on Baisakh 8 if the lockdown is extended." According to the sources, the government is preparing to extend the lockdown up until Baisakh 3, 2077.

The board is now printing the question papers for the examination and the papers have not been sent to the district so far. "If the situation is normal, then there will be no need to postpone the examination of Grade 11," said Dr. Paudel. "We are also considering to conduct the examinations of Grade 10 and 12 in the morning and in the afternoon respectively."
