Chautara, Dec 8 (RSS): Save the Children has constructed the buildings of 15 early childhood development centres in various rural municipalities of Sindhupalchok district. These buildings were constructed at an investment of Rs 33 million with the management of Tuki Sangh Sunkoshi.
Tuki Sangh executive director Gyanendra Poudel said that there are six learning rooms in the building. The buildings also have facilities like drinking water, toilets, sanitation, dolls and playthings for children and sleeping room in consonance with the government-stipulated criteria.
Such facilities have been constructed at seven ECD centres in Chautara Sangachokgadhi municipality, at four ECD centres in Indrawati rural municipality, at three ECD centres in Balefi rural municipality and one ECD centre in Sunkoshi rural municipality.
Children between the age of three to five years are looked after and taught at these centres. According to Poudel, the newly constructed buildings were handed over to the head teacher and the president of the school management committee at each school amid a programme organized here on Friday.
Similarly, a 12-room building of the Hana Bikas Secondary School at Chautara Sangachokgadhi municipality and four buildings of four basic schools at Balefi rural municipality were handed over the school management committees concerned. These school blocks were also constructed with the financial and technical assistance of the Save the Children.
