Pokhara International poetry symposium held

Pokhara, Sept 9: The Pokhara International Poetry Meet-2017 organized by the Devkota Lu Xun Academy concluded here today. 

More than 36 poets from Nepal, India and Bhutan had recited their poems on the occasion. Their poems mocked at the social anomalies and aberrations as well as the dwindling moral, social and humanitarian values. 
Chancellor of Nepal Music and Drama Academy, Sarubhakta Shrestha inaugurated the programme. On the occasion, Chancellor Shrestha said the language, literature and culture is common to all in the world and we all should preserve them. 
Senior litterateur Tirtha Shrestha, academician Haridevi Koirala, Ushanandi Gahatraj (India, Siliguri), Usha Kiran Rai (Kharsang, India), Tumbehang Limbu (Bhutan), Devrati Bhattacharya (Kolkata) also read out their poetry. 
Academy chairperson Ninu Chapagain presided over the programme. A poetry anthology titled 'Ghamko Birasat' by Krishna Prasain was also released on the occasion
