Babiyachaur, Myagdi, Chaitra 14: Two-room building has been constructed in Lamsung Secondary School of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality – 2 with a cost of 26 lakhs.
With the help of Good Neighbors International, the building was constructed under Myagdi Community Development Project launched by Sangam Myagdi.
Head of Building Construction Committee, Gyanbahadur Paija, informed that the building was constructed with investments from the project and the local people in the amount of 19 lakhs 59 thousand 913 and 6 lakh 17 thousand 427 respectively.
The earthquake resistant building was established as a computer and science laboratory, said Tulsinath Subedi, the principal of the school. The project had provided the school with 4 computers, printer and equipment for the science laboratory.
Chiranjivi Regmi, Education Head of Sangam Myagdi, said that 2 lakh 22 thousand 850 rupees grant had been provided to connect the solar panels with a capacity of 1890 Watts to operate the science and computer laboratories. The Rural Municipality has provided Rupees 2 lakh 27 thousand 250 for the purchase of the solar panels.
To improve the quality of education in Lamsung School, help in buildings, laboratories, solar panel installations, children classroom management, and educational materials had been provided.
The project which was launched since 2013 AD has been helping the community school of Gurja, Lulang, Muda, Madi and Marang of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality in various sectors like children education, improvement of quality education of the school and income of parents.
