Nepalese Society for Microbiology willing to offer technical expertise on COVID-19 investigation

Nepalese Society of Microbiology (NESOM) has published a press statement about taking preventive measures on out-break of coronavirus (COVID-19). 

The pandemic is affecting people globally and due to which mortality rate is increasing among older people. Since the virus spread through infection of the respiratory system, necessary precautions should be taken. Thereby quarantine measures are taken worldwide at various medical centers and isolation wards while the scientists are working towards the discovery of anti-virus medicine or vaccine.   
Nepalese Society for Microbiology (NESOM) members and associated institutes are willing to offer technical expertise to the Government of Nepal for early and quality assured molecular/Serological diagnosis of suspected cases as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 
Nepalese Society for Microbiology (NESOM) is a professional society of microbiologists working in different areas of microbiology (Virology, Bacteriology, Parasitology, Mycology, Vaccinology, Diagnostics, and Quality Management), NESOM member Microbiologists working for reputed universities and research centers around the globe including Nepal are involved in different aspects of viral infection investigations including the development of candidate anti-viral drugs, diagnostics, and vaccines.
