Naaya Aayam Multi-Disciplinary Institute (NAMI) College organized it's First Convocation Ceremony on 23rd November 2018, Friday at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu. 92 students from Management, Environmental Science and Computing (IT) graduated from the College yesterday.
The British ambassador His Excellency Richard Morris had addressed the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The programme was inaugurated by National Anthem followed by the lightning of Panas by honorable Chairperson of NAMI Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Rashmi Dravid, Head of Partnership Programme, University of Northampton. Prof. John Sinclair, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Science, and Technology of the University of Northampton had also addressed the program followed by welcome address by Dr. Bidisha Chakraborty, NAMI Principal.
The Ceremonial Address of the Convocation Ceremony was done by respected Prof. John Sinclair, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology of the University of Northampton. The degrees were conferred to the graduating students by Honorable Chief Guest the British Ambassador His Excellency Richard Morris and honorable Chairperson of NAMI Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.
Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba had delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the ceremony. While arguing significant of education, Deuba Said, 'NAMI has come a long way since its inception in 2012. We all are in a learning process. She also further added that NAMI has become a center of excellence and the college will be vital in creating human capital as well as global citizens.
NAMI had honored the pass out student of 2018 who had enrolled in 2014/15. Representative student of various department of NAMI had given speech relating to educational activities and their experience as well. On this occasion, College had distributed the educational certificate to pass out students of the departments of Computing, Environmental Science and Management.
At the mid of the program, Honorable Chief Guest Ambassador of UK Richard Morris had congratulated the graduating batch with his warm wishes.
The convocation ended in joy as graduates and their parents joined for group photographs and socialization followed by dinner.
NAMI College, an affiliate of Univesity of Northhampton was inaugurated in 2012. The University of Northampton is the 2012 No. 1 University for employability in England and the only AshokaU “Changemaker Campus” in the UK.In the starting phase, the College started with courses like A level, BSc Environmental Science and BSc Computing at the undergraduate level. In 2015 another two programs BBA and MBA were incorporated.
The College has given various facilities targeting the demand of modern student. A well-equipped laboratory is one of them where many scientific experiments can be done. The playground is also available here. Around 6 hundred students are running their program in this college today. The college has announced one significant decision to publish Journal every year and has launched the symbolical journal in convocation. CEO Mr. Pawan Pokharel in NAMI College clarifies the importance of Journal, 'This inspires the student towards the researched based study.'
