The CPN-Maoist-aligned All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) today demanded formation of a high-level mechanism to monitor and control fraudulence activities of educational consultancies.
In a press statement, ANNISU-R said many educational consultancies are misleading students aspiring to go abroad for studies, risking their future. The union has also demanded cancelling the registration of educational consultancies that have been defrauding students and operating without registration.

“The educational consultancies, which are supposed to suggest students about right  education and career, have been busy inviting foreigners to promote their institutes, which is shameful,” said the statement, adding,

“Such activities have not only ruined the national education sector, but also created a feeling of mistrust and uncertainty among aspirants seeking right advice on higher studies.”  ANNISU-R also demanded that the government postpone the two-day ninth India Premier School Exhibition that began today and the Australian Fair that is going to begin on Sunday.

The union also demanded that the educational consultancies be brought under the purview of government policy.
