Kathmandu, July 3 (RSS): A memorandum was submitted to Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, today, calling for an end to problems seen in the health and education sectors.

A delegation of the All Nepal Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) called on the minister today and submitted the memorandum which sought the complete nationalization of health and education sectors, accessible and free education to all, an immediate scrap of the fees increase up to 40 percent by private schools in this academic session and implementation of agreements reached between the joint students union and the government last year.

Besides, they demand the state’s clear criteria to fix fees of engineering education and a refund of ‘extra fees’ charged by medical colleges. The government has been urged to systematize those Nepal-based colleges having affiliations with foreign universities and ensure transparency in scholarship provisions. The minister promised to address genuine demands of students, said union president Alok Rayamajhi.
