Parasi, Jan 8 (RSS): Locals levels of Nawalparasi-west have started recruiting teachers on their own.
Teachers have been recruited in local community schools by using the constitution-bestowed rights so as to avert the crisis of teachers surfaced, shared the local government units.
Susta Rural Municipality and Pratappur Rural Municipality have already recruited teachers while Palhinandan Rural Municipality has solicited applications for recruitment. Ramgram Municipality is in preparation to publish a notice for teachers’ recruitment.
The Susta Rural Municipality has recruited 20 teachers on contract basis after it came across inadequacy of teachers. The learning process was affected when there was no proportional ratio of teacher and students’ number, said Susta Rural Municipality Chairperson Ram Prasad Pandey.
“The schools have faced trouble in allocating salary to teachers appointed from their internal sources”, he said, adding that the new teachers have been recruited to facilitate the teaching and learning process.
The Pratappur Rural Municipality have recruited three teachers on contract basis in a way to adjust from education grant quota, shared Chief Administrative Officer Bodhraj Basyal.
Likewise, Palhinandan Rural Municipality has invited applications for 12 volunteer teachers. Ramgram Municipality is making necessary preparation to recruit volunteer teachers on contract basis, shared Information Officer and Education Section Chief Totanath Lamsal.
The Nepal Constitution has granted several rights related to the education to the local government, including school permission, renewal, transfer, management and formation of school management committee. The local governments are also entrusted with the responsibility for formulating and implementing overall policy, plan and programme.
