Limkokwing University of Creative Technology is expected to sign a formal pact with local conglomerate Chaudhary Group today to set up a branch campus in Kathmandu  in 2012.

"We will offer industrial-based education, and Nepalese students would be given global exposure once they join our university, in any of our three campuses in London, Kathmandu or Malaysia.

"We will help train human capital and participate in developing Nepal's economy," Chua Tiam Wee, the university's Vice-President for Business Development told Bernama.

Limkokwing is part of the visiting Malaysia-Nepal Business Council (MNBC) delegation to the Himalayan nation to scout for trade prospects. The Chaudhary group is a diversified business entity with wide interest in the education sector in Nepal.

Limkokwing will also sign memoranda of understanding with two student recruitment agencies -- the Prudent Education Foundation and Scholars Choice Pvt Ltd -- to help promote the university's brand in Nepal.

Limkokwing has 12 campuses in eight countries with nearly 30,000 students
