Private and Boarding Schools' Organisation Nepal-Lalitpur has decided to close all private schools in Lalitpur tomorrow to mourn the death of school children who were killed in the wall collapse on Friday.
Two girls from third standard were killed and 25 others injured last week when a wall fell on two classrooms of Pushpanjali Secondary School in Taukhel, Godavari Municipality, Lalitpur.
Shiva Karki, president, PABSON- Lalitpur, today said a condolence meeting would be organised tomorrow to mourn the death of schoolchildren and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
"The death of school children in the wall collapse is a very sad. We have called all member schools and others to participate in the condolence meeting."
He informed that professional organisations of teachers and others have also ex¬pressed their solidarity with PABSON-Lalitpur and community schools were also likely to remain closed tomorrow to mourn the deaths.
Currently, the school has been bearing the treatment cost of all injured school children, who were admitted to B & B Hospital and Patan Hospital for treatment.
Of those admitted to B & B Hospital, five have already been discharged, while 14, including four who are in critical condition, are still receiving treatment.
Similarly, all six students admitted to Patan Hospital have been discharged.
Karki said the ill-fated school has remained closed since the incident and would reopen only from July 17.
