"Workshop on bioinformatics", the first workshop of its kind in Nepal was held in Dhulikhel Hospital- Kathmandu University Hospital (DH-KUH) in association with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway with resource assistance from Denmark Technical University (DTU) on 18-22 March 2013.

The 5 days workshop was facilitated by Professor David Ussery and PhD fellow Tammi Vesth from Center for Biological Sequence Analysis-Department of Systems Biology, DTU and organized by Department of Microbiology, DH-KUH.

Altogether 35 individuals including Microbiologist, Biochemists, Biotechnologists and Master students from various medical institutions of Nepal, took part in this workshop.

This is the first workshop on Comparative Bacterial Genomics held in Nepal. Inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Koju, Administrative Director, DH-KUH, the workshop was concluded with vote of thanks by Professor Nhuchhe R Tuladhar, Associated Dean, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences.
