Kathmandu, Sept 21 (RSS): Joint Students' Union has demanded the withdrawal of Education Act (ninth amendment) passed recently by the government.
Organising a press conference here today, the union demanded the withdrawal of the Education Act (ninth amendment) immediately, as it would fail to select capable teachers making existing temporary teachers permanent.
On the occasion, President of Nepal Student Union, Nain Singh Mahar, asked to withdraw the Education Act because it would dent the quality education and also warned of launching agitation if it was not withdrawn.
Similarly, Chairperson of All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU), Nabina Lama, said machination was made to make the incapable teachers permanent. She clarified that the Education Act would not be acceptable to them as it would dampen children's future.
Chairperson of ANNFSU (Sixth) Bimal Pokharel, Chairperson of Nepal Democratic Student Forum, Kapaleshwor Yadav, among others demanded to give more priority to capable candidates.
Meanwhile, the student union has also made the protest programme public.
